EXPERIENCE
After graduation from medical school, Dr. Schlegel interned at Charles Still Osteopathic Hospital (now Capital Region Medical Center) in Jefferson City, MO. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. His cardiology fellowship was completed at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center, San Antonio, TX. Dr. Schlegel has served on the Amercian Heart Association Regional Board of Directors and the Osage Valley Osteopathic Association as President. At the University of Missouri at Kansas City, he was an instructor in Internal Medicine. 
 
Dr. Schlegel’s articles have been published in such publications as Osteopathic Medicine and Texas Heart Institute Journal. His medical specialties are General Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Major at the Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE. While there, he served as Chief of Medicine and Director of Intensive Care.
